one of my contacts has an animated avatar and I would like to keep the animation if possible. However, as soon as the animation starts my contact list comes on top of all the windows I have open.

I have "Always on top" unchecked in my options for the behavior of my contact list, but it does not help.

Is there anything I can do to prevent the contact list to be moved as soon as the animated gif starts?

I just dled the program and started integrating my msn accounts (I have plenty) into it.
My overall first look to the program is just fine, I like it. But the first huge problem I'm facing is the lack of selecting multiple contacts for dragging and dropping. I have hundreds of people in my various accounts and none of them are grouped.
This is a huge problem now because I have to drag and drop each one individually and it is a veeeery big bugger, I'll never do it. And if I cannot group my different accounts' users in different groups, managing gets very complicated.
Also, copying an email address from a contact is impossible. One cannot highlight an email address... It is pretty much pointless actually.
These are the first problems I encountered using Miranda. In order to make the world a better place to live in and save the lemons from becoming genetically modified I'll keep on posting this sort of things.
Keep up the good work and make mikrosoft a 5th class company, they deserve it!

I have a problem implementing a protocol which sends packets of a variable length. I thought the best would be to use the packetreceiver. However it seems it's not working as it should (or I'm doing something wrong :).

I wrote a small test sever application which sends two packets to the client. Those two packets are sent without any delay between them.

I'm waiting for arriving packets in an endless loop with iBufLen = (int) CallService(MS_NETLIB_GETMOREPACKETS, (WPARAM) m_pcon, (LPARAM) &nlpr); where m_pcon is the packet receiver.

Right after the packets have been sent I can receive the first one. This works just fine. But after processing the first packet I want to handle the second packet. However the second MS_NETLIB_GETMOREPACKETS call doesn't return any packet. It just waits an infinite time (as it should when there are no more packets).

Can someone help me sort this out please? I don't know where to start in order to solve this problem.

EDIT: Ok, I did some more testing. This time I sent one packet, received it and waited for the next one. I then sent the next packet and I received it too! Then again, waiting for the next packet I sent two packets one after another and I received only the first one!

Can someone confirm this behavior please? Also I think this is a bug in the Miranda core.

EDIT2: More testing done! This is interesting now. I observed the following.
If I send one packet I am able to receive it without any problems (we already know this).
If I send two packets and then wait for these I am only able to receive the first one (already said that too).

If I send one packet, receive it and send another packet right after it I will receive this one too.
If I send one packet, receive it and then send two additional packets I will only receive the first one but not the second one.

This clearly look like a bug to me. E.g. do not show the user authorization request from UID's on that list and do not temporarily add the UID to the contact list.

Why?

There are some UID's that constantly send authorization requests. In the profile of those Users are links to porno sites and stuff.

There are 2 possibilities I know to cope with those requests.
1. Reject the request.
Here, the UID get's added to your contact list until miranda is restarted. This is not so nice for people who rarely shutdown their miranda. And you will always get the request again.

2. Add the UID to your contact list and ignore all events from it.
Here the user becomes part of your offline contact list, which I personally do not like, because you have contacts on your list that you don't want to. I've noticed that in miranda 0.8.x , when some contact is typing, it shows in clist. Maybe this is something that shows when using any other type of skin, but it's very irritating, 'cause, when I want to click on toolbar, it keeps "jumping" up and down, depending od whether someone is typing. I've looked for this option tu turn it off, but I couldn't find it, that's why I'm writting this post. It was long time since I've started using miranda 0.8.x (0.8.1 haven't updated yet), so I don't quite remember did this appear without typing notify plugin (I believe it did). Sorry if i wrote this in wrong forum, and hope that someone will help me with this.
